Maybe your hair is too frizzy, it's thinning, or it's been damaged by excessive colorings or relaxers; regardless of your problem, i suggests a recipe, that should help you deal with specific hair concerns.

Ingredients:

1/2 teaspoons Corn Oil

Directions:

Add the corn oil to your regular conditioner, rinse out as you normally would.

This recipe is cheap, you can easily afford it. For more get home remedies checking this link.

Um garnier frutics deep conditioner works wonders.and loreal shampoo and conditioner for dry and damaged hair works really great.its what I use and it's works.also don't use

Shampoo on your ends because of all the chemicals inside just makes your ends

Dry
herbal essences or however its spelled haha they have really good conditioner for people who dye their hair. it's meant to rehydrate your hair and it works really really well. probably any conditioner used for rehydrated dyed hair or so would work very well too. hope that helps XD
ive tried lots of shampoos n condtioners and ive found Aussie Moist to be unbelievable!!! just try them n throw them back and get a refund if they dnt work. just becuz u buy them doesnt mean u have to keep them. we're in a recession! if u dnt like it then return it.
Matrix Biolage Shampoo and Conditioner,

and then also matrix biolage deep treatment mask.. that you would leave on your hair for about 5 to 10 mins. And in 2 weeks hair as good as new:))
u should use l'oreal 2 in 1.

its really good

i also use it and i use 2 have dry hair

but now i dont because i used l'oreal.

its not expensive either

hope it works

  • What things could I do for my dry hair?

I was born and raised with very straight and shiny hair, very healthy. But I think I messed up my hair somehow, maybe I trusted the wrong people to dye my hair.My hair looks very dry now,and I've tried so many shampoos that are for dry damaged hair, but nothing seems to work, maybe I need a treatment,a natural one or something,or maybe is the way I manage my hair. Please give some tips of what to use for my hair and how to manage it properly. What things could I do for my dry hair?
Your hair needs a rest from too much attention.

My opinion is that you should get it shortened up a bit.(to get the driest ends off.) Use a gentle shampoo and a very-good quality moisturizing, conditioner. Then for a month or so wash your hair only every other day, or every 3rd day if you can go that long. Avoid all electrical hair appliances. No hair dryers. No curling irons or curlers. Nothing. Also avoid any hair styling products that contain alcohol or urea--both are extremely drying on hair. Also avoid sprays with propellents (aerosols).

Finally, (this sounds icky--) as your scalp gets feeling oily, massage your head with the pads of your fingers (not fingernails), distributing the natural oils down the shaft of hair. (recommend doing this in private!)

We (society) prefer to shampoo away this natural oil and then try to put it back with (better smelling) conditioners. Sometimes we just have to admit, nature knows best!

good luck! What things could I do for my dry hair?
use olive oil. and just different greases to make it healthy again dont put anymore chemiceals in it and when it gets healty again get it styled
Try a hydrating mask once a week Nioxin makes a great one!

    http://nioxin.com/index.cfm?objectId=351鈥?/a>

Also if you can try not to blow dry or use a diffuser. Also when you get out of the shower don't rub your hair with the towel to dry it just pat it lightly.
    shave yourself bald
First of all buy some Olive Oil and measure out about 3 tablespoons into a small glass container. Dampen your hair and work the olive oil into your hair.Leave it in your hair ,the longer the better and then shampoo and condition ur hair like you normally do,also I used Cholesterol conditioner,u get it in the black section of hir products at most stores..I know this because I had the same problem from to much coloring done to my hair in a short period of time.
Do a hot oil treatment every other day...Leave in covered with towel about 20 minutes.

Also try some Pantene leave in condtioner...

Do not blow dry...try to let dry on own.
Try the tips in the source and it should be able to help your hair regain health!
use mustard oil at the roots of hair. use your finger tips for massaging the scalp AND eat raw salads/fruits(rich in fibre cotent). drink a lot of water(4-6 glass) in the morning.
what you need to do is use olive oil rub a little bit through ur hair pretty regularly- it give back shine and moisture to ur hair.

also if you can dont dye ur hair very frequently or ever. the less attention ur hair gets the healthier it is. stop blow drying it (if u do) just towel dry it and smooth it with a comb. dont straigten it either

    good luck
I have long straight hair too and I don't know if this will help but berfore you go to bed put baby oil in your hair for a few minutes and then wash it off with a good shampoo and conditioner after that towel try so its damp then braid it. Also a trim at the tips will help too. Good Luck!!

How do you treat dry hair on a guy?

I'm a male 18 years old. My hair was long for a while and it got really dry from the top of my head, so I cut it short but not too short. It's just growing back now but I think it's still kind of dry. I don't want dry hair. How do prevent getting dry hair again? Di I have to wear caps or something every time I'm outside or what? How do you treat dry hair on a guy?

and clean your brush or combs.....

    suave or neutrogena are good

and not too costly...How do you treat dry hair on a guy?
Buy a expensive leave in treatment they sell them at salons and use it once a week. Also do not wash your hair everyday skip a day and use a good moisturizing shampoo. Wear a hat in the sun.
well, if you don't mind smelling kind of girly you can use hello hydration by herbal essences, it's a miracle worker!!!!!!

or there's head and shoulders but that stuff has some really nasty chemicals that can be very damaging to your scalp and skin when it runs down your body.

or there's garnier fructis sleek and shine.

I know it sounds like something totally different but it's good for your scalp and it makes your hair pretty and shiny and it doesn't smell girly!

    I hope I helped.

How do you moisturize dry hair?

My daughter is bi racial, and her hair is very very dry. It does not grow around the hair line. I have tried the pink lotion and other similar products but nothing works. When she wears a pony tail, her hair on the sides and front stand up. I hate to watch her cry. Please help us!How do you moisturize dry hair?
Stop washing her hair with shampoo; it's drying her hair out. Wash it only with conditioner, and also use leave in conditioner. Other than that limited advice, I recommend you join some forums for black hair care and learn from the pros.

What are good , yet inexpansive wet-to-dry hair straightners?

Okay, so my hair is thick and to dry it and them straighten would take a long time- and if i left my hair to dry naturally, then just forget about straightening (IMPOSSIBLE!). So i was wondering what are good but cheap ones that work well? My hair is straight after a shower and a good 'ol brush in the shower and out. So, where can i get these? **REMEMBER PLEASE- NOT EXPENSIVE YET GOOD QUALITY**What are good , yet inexpansive wet-to-dry hair straightners?
wet to dry doesnt work well. first of all the steam burns really bad if you dont use it right and whenever i used it on my hair it never fully dried it and it ended up looking frizzy. try taking a shower the night before so when you wake up most of your hair will be dry and then you can straiten it that way. What are good , yet inexpansive wet-to-dry hair straightners?
wow i think i have the same problem have u used a straighner before? because you miht be surprised at what a good straightner can do i have a wet to dry straightner im sorry i want to help and tell you the name but i bought it along time ago but its conair and its red with two traingle shaped buttons one that turns green when its all warmed up and red when its not on that one works well cuz trust me i know that when u hav poofy hair and it dries it is horrible but with the straightner after your done it looks fine you need other products to make it silky smooth duh ive never actually seen a straightner that leaves your hair looking shiny when it wasnt like that before so yea i dont think they exist hah hope this helps let me know ok
If you want to kill your hair, go ahead and get them. Straightening your hair in the first place is bad. Think of how bad it will be if your straightening and drying at the same time. Your hair will fry.
    wet2straight the brand is remington

    http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.j鈥?/a>

    thats the one!!!!

    good luck=]
I thought that if you straightened your hair when wet you ran a chance of burning it. I didn't know there was anything that did both.
    there is one at walmart called wet to straight its black and im not really sure what brand it is but it works good and not expensive at all [;

Sunsilk anti-poof serum with jojoba oil works wonders.

  • Can somebody give me instructions for a treatment for frizzy, dry hair that i can do at home?

I'm half asian so I have black hair that i highlighted about half a year ago (the highlights are pretty faded) and every since i highlighted it it has been very frizzy and puffy.... I usually put it in a ponytail while it is drying to try keep the frizz and volume down, but i still have flyaways all over the place! I want some treatment like a hot oil massage or one of those ';hair mask'; things with yogurt and lemon juice and such (by the way, I have NO idea how to do those things so you'll have to be precise!), or perhaps someone can recommend some good styling products for frizzy hair? Ones that actually work? Thanks so much! Can somebody give me instructions for a treatment for frizzy, dry hair that i can do at home?
Do a moisturizing treatment as often as 3 times a week to once a week. I usually put some mayonaise in my hair and leave it for 20 minutes and wash it thoroughly like, 3 times to get all the extra oil out.

Or heat up 1/2 cup of olive oil or less (depending on your hair length) in the microwave for about 20-30 seconds. Test the heat, and if it's not too hot for your hair, pour it on or use a painter brush to get it through your hair. Use a wide tooth comb if needed to distribute evenly.

Hair Masks: L'Oreal Vive - the best. Follow instructions to the letter :)

The best styling product is JOhn Frieda's Frizz-Ease. Start with a dime-sized blob through the top layers and where the frizz is. You can always add more later. It's harder to take away oil than to add.

Well, hope I helped. Can somebody give me instructions for a treatment for frizzy, dry hair that i can do at home?
I swear by Infusium leave in conditioner. They have a special formula for frizz.
after you wash your hair with shampoo take a good conditioner and leave it in your hair for about 4 min. and then rinse it out. buy some leave in conditioner for when your out of the shower. it will take it a week or so but you will see inprovment.
    Aussi! :)
Your asian! Asians have the perfect hair. It has all the cortexs. You should never have a problem with frizzy hair. Youre doing something wrong in your daily hair care regimen. Treatments will only last for a while. They wont fix the problem, they will mask it. Find out what your doing wrong.

In the mean time Pantene Pro-V is the best for treatments. Im black I use ThermaSilk Conditioner. Try it.

okay this is goin to sound REALLY nasty, but try ';soaking'; ur hair in mayonaise, just lik eput it all in there and then put it in like a shower cap and let it soak over night. it should be all silky by the next day... also when u shampoo and stuff

dont shampoo everyday, and condition your whole head and let the conditioner soak for aobut a minute-2 minutes then rinse it out. and also dont use too many things that damage ur hair like durling irons, straighteners, blow dryers, etc.
i'm half asian too, and i have the exact same problem!!! lol. what i use is sunsilk shampoo, conditioner, and 24/7 creme (anti-poof or de-frizz, both work great), then if i feel up to it, i blow dry it with a flat brush, or otherwise i wait for it to dry then straighten it. some advice maybe: i usually wear one of those cowboy hats, but not so big after i've put the 24/7 creme or john frieda simply sleek straightening balm in. yes, it does look ridiculous, but especially on nights that i have to go to sleep with wet hair, it is a lifesaver! otherwise, i used to do the hairtie thing too, and it was pretty good for me (i can't do that technique for now, cause my hairs too short!) also, to make your hair really shiny, (yes it sounds icky) but put mayo in your hair for 10-20 minutes then make sure to wash it out thoroughly. : )

    good luck!
    use anti frizz serum
try using VO5 hot oil treatments.....its worked for me....another thing I do is I use this stuff that makes your hair shine, and it also tames the frizz....I use Paul Mitchell, but you can get very similar products at wal-mart.

I also use Infuzium leave in conditioner!
i have really frizy curly/wavy hair, and the best i have found for that solution is a good conditioner ( DOVE is the best yet ) leave in for like 3-5 mins ( depending on your hair length ) a straightener works great!! you might want to try the V05 straightening spray ( u can get at wal-mart for like $3) ....but dont use V05 shampoo and conditioner- it will fry your hair faster. Frizz-ease, did not work for me, it made me hair greasy. after straightening it, then spray, maybe even a ligt shine spray afterwards. good luck

What are some products you can find at home that are great for helping dry hair?

Lately my hair has been super dry and seems to breaking a lot more than it ever has and whenever i straighten it there tends to be a lot of frizz in it caused by the dryness of my hair. What are a few products i can use to help add moisture back into my hair and make it shine and look healthy again? What are some products you can find at home that are great for helping dry hair?
Aloe Vera,is a good remedy for dry hair. You can use the one readily available or the fresh one. It is obtained from the leaves of the Aloe Vera plant. Break the leaf and squeeze out the liquid inside, apply this liquid to your scalp, keep for about an hour and wash it off . hot oil treatments

If you have normal hair and used a product for dry hair, what would it do?

I have normal to slightly dry Champagne-Blonde hair, and I just wanted to know, what are some really good Salon-Grade haircare products out there, that would preserve my color and have my hair silky smooth, soft and shinny, and something that smells prety good too. I found Warren-Tricomi, and thats why I was wondering if it's best to get the one for normal hair, or if i got the one for dry hair would it make my hair feel even better, or worse maybe (too oily?) maybe? Or would it just be a plain old waste? Plus it has to be sold in most retail stores. Any product recommendations that you could give and an answer would be great! Thanks! If you have normal hair and used a product for dry hair, what would it do?
Try the color expressions by pantene pro-v, or The John Freida Collection. They work great on my blonde! And they have moisturizers to help with dryness, and it shines great! If you have normal hair and used a product for dry hair, what would it do?
For your hair, I think you should try different things. What I mean by that is, not use one line of products for your hair. For shampoo, I think you should use Pantene Color Expression for Blonde's. The shampoo will give you a good balance and not leave you hair too oily or dry. Then for conditioners, I think you should use either Tresseme(sp) or John Frieda's no frizz conditioners. Both will make your hair silky and soft. Then for blow drying you should try either VO5 or Tresseme heat protection line. Both, again, will protect the hair follicles from over drying causing the brittle effect. Just one hint of advice : try to not accidentally use something for oily hair. It will SEVERELY strip you hair. Peace and Blessings and good luck!

Can anyone reccommend a really good deep conditioning treatment for dry hair?

I have long hair that is colour treated every nine weeks so its in need of some tlc. Ive tried a few products but nothing has impressed me. I love having my hair long so need to keep it looking healthy rather than getting it chopped!

P.S preferably something i can buy in the UKCan anyone reccommend a really good deep conditioning treatment for dry hair?
If you need something really good to remoisturize your hair I have a great treatment for you. You need something eiht no sulfates in it, sulfates are found in cheap shampoo and conditioners. They are abrasive salts used to cleanse the hair but they do serious damage to the scalp and hair in the process. The best hair care I have found is made by a company called Elon. They make alot of Dermatology recommended products. I use their whole line of hair care to keep my hair soft and silky.

#1. Pre-wash - this is a pre-shampoo treatment that with repair the damage you have. This is something you would use 1-2 times a week before you shampoo and condition. This will dramatically moisturize your hair, help with split ends, and give your hair an all around look and feel.

#2. Shampoo - this is just a really nice mild formula with no sulfates. This way your getting moisture and your avoiding more damage by staying away from the sulfates.

#3. Conditioner - just like the shampoo this is mild and sulfate free, great for just an everyday conditioner.

#4. Replenishing Masque - this is great. It's a super thick extra moisturizing conditioner. Basically just replace the conditioner a few times a week with this ultra thick conditioner to add the extra silkiness to your hair you need.

Really doesn't get any simpler and it works fantastic! You can order it online and have it shipped right to you house!!

Hope this helps! GOOD LUCK!Can anyone reccommend a really good deep conditioning treatment for dry hair?
I use pantene pro-v conditioner. Its like 7 bucks a bottle but when I had long hair and used it everyday it kept my hair looking silky and smooth.
Pantene Color Revival or Color Me Happy Shampoo from Herbal Essences.
I know this sounds really weird, but it works. Try putting half a cup of mayonnaise on for 20 minuets, then rinse it out. It is gross at first, but when you wash it out, and you style it how ever, preferably straightened, it feels and looks 5 times healthier. And why not get a trim? It wont chop your hair off, but it will actually help your hair grow. Tell me how it works!
herbal essenses the orange bottle its callled coral nectarine and ever since i first used my friends i started getting it myself!
    Aussie 3 minute miracle!!

I swear by that stuff. I dyed my hair in the summer, and it become really dry and straw like, so I brought Aussie, and it literally with one treatment made my hair soft, shiny and full of life (and it smelled yummy)
Plain old Olive Oil works the best! Just massage it into your hair, cover your head with a shower cap and leave it for 1-2 hours. When you rinse it out, you will have to shampoo a couple times, but it works amazingly well!
I dont know if you can buy it in the UK but I love Bone Marrow by Lamaur. I color my hair pretty often and its great.

What would be the cheapest but best treatment to treat dry hair?

i been blow drying my hair everyday since july and it makes my hair dry and cooked...huhuhu please help. What would be the cheapest but best treatment to treat dry hair?
Start using a heat protective spray and you won't fry your hair.

A good, inexspensive conditioning treatment is neutrogena's triple moisture line...works really great!!What would be the cheapest but best treatment to treat dry hair?
You might not want to hear this but you may need to cut your hair.

It sounds like your hair is beyond repairable and that the damaged hair needs to be cut. Sorry...

If your hair is too short to be cut skip that but if it's longer I'd definitely reccomend getting it cut. Next, I'd reccomend hot olive oil treatments.

Buy some olive oil from the grocery store, heat it up for about thirty seconds in the microwave, apply it to towel-dried hair, cover it with a plastic cap and let it sit for about 30 minutes then rinse it out and style it as usual. If you do this regularly(maybe about every two weeks) you should see a noticeable difference. Also try washing your hair less, That could be the problem too. Another thing that you could try is wearing a satin bonnet at night or sleeping on a satin pillowcase... that works wonders.

Good luck in treating your dry hair!! :)
Get a deep condtioner for dry and damaged hair

look for this anywhere they sell shampoo

also look in the hair care aisle and find some other conditioning stuff whatever look good to you

try to lay off the blow drying for a little bit to let your hair recover
There are several products you can use to moisturize your hair. You want to start out with a good shampoo like humectris (buy the cheaper kind like Suave or store brand) nd leave-in conditioner like Infusium. Get the big bottle and a spray bottle to spray it on your hair. Also, you'll want to use a Daily cleansing shampoo to remove all of the products you have used on your hair during the week like gel, hair sprays and inviromental polutants (aka free radicals).
If you dont want your hair to be dry, then just get it wet with some water from the sink! Duhhh.
Gugo...plant it in your backyard so you dont have to buy...cheap! Right????

Do not blow dry your hair daily coz it will make them more brittle. And if you dont blow dry you save on your electric bill...cheap again! Right????

Try commercial conditioner like CreamSilk at least once a week treatment will do.
You probably shouldnt blow dry it as much. But they have certain and shamposs and other hair products like moose adn hairspray (if you use that stuff) for heat activation. It should say it right on the bottle. Pantene has one and garnier frutese has one as well.
Use a shampoo for dry/damaged hair and use a hair mask treatment daily. Before blow-drying, use a leave in conditioner to prevent it from drying up again. Search for ingredients like avocado, almond, olive or coconut in the hair mask you buy. Blow dry for less than 5 min.
You may think this is a bit weird. You have obviously tried all the stuff on the market?

    I have very frizzy hair.

My mum used to boil nettles. Reduce the cooking liquour allow it to cool. The subsequent gloop is then applied to the hair as a conditioner. Rinse off and you will find your hair moisturised and tangle free!! xx
the best treatment girlie is the hot oil packages that they sell in walgreens. they come in little packages that you can put in hot water ( the smoothe result will activate more quickly in thermal condition ). but yeah just put that blow dryer down and tye it up or style it as a bun and apply a slick amount of defrizzing serum on top of your hair ( incase if any baby hair stick out ) people will never notice the dried hair :]
Egg whites, oil massages can improve your dry hair. More home remedies available at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/dryhair.html
get some hydrating shampoo and conditioner like biologe it works really good
A generous oil application and massage is recommended before washing the hair. Frequent shampooing is harmful for dry hair. Sometimes lack of nutrients can also cause dry brittle hair. Take a multivitamin and mineral supplement on a daily basis. Check out http://solutionsfordryhair.blogspot.com/ for more info.

What is the best brand of conditioner and shampoo for dry hair that is less than $4 a bottle?

Sunsilk - Used for a while..now dries my hair out terribly.

Suave products - Are as bad as people say...Dried out my hair!

    Garnier Fructis - Leaves build-up!

Herbal Essence (new kind) - Dries out my hair pretty bad.

What about Dove? Or Pantene Pro-V?

Give me advice because I am sick of buying bottles (which ultimately suck) and having them pile up sinceI stop using them. Thanks!

  • What is the best shampoo for dry hair?

I have extreamly dry hair, very very brittle hair. The only thing is my hair is so short, that if i dont blow dry it my hair is out of control because of the split ends, and if i dont straighten it but do blow dry it, it looks like my hair is straight then, has very bad dry split ends. I need some advise I dont know what to do with my hair, its already looking like a mullet because the back of my hair I believe is heathier then the front. Someone please help me!What is the best shampoo for dry hair?
the best product is olive oil. buy a cheap regular bottle of it and while you are in the shower, coat your hair with it and ';wash'; with hot water. if you can, bring your hair up in a little bun with a hair tie or sumthin. if not, then you could put a shower cap on. then, after you step out of the shower, just leave it in for whatever time you have..be it 5 mins or a couple days. your hair will improve! a really good shampoo is aveda damage remedy. i got my hair fried at a salon %26amp; my regular stylist recommended i use this to heal it. %26amp; it works sooooo well. worth every penny. What is the best shampoo for dry hair?
Invest in a salon-quality product. Anything you buy at the drug store is filled with preservatives and will not give you the best results. Ask your stylist for recommendations. I like Bumble and Bumble Creme de Coco.
    pan tine
redken all soft or silk elements from sallys! both will take care of your hair issues!
try a hot oil treatment or salone qulity conditioner, aveda damage revitilizer is super expensive but will work for your hair...ask the salonist for a sample before you buy it
Give Mixed Chicks system a try. And remember, dry hair won't be fixed just with a shampoo. What conditioner are you using? If you go with something like Mixed Chicks, try putting in a leave-in conditioner, then air drying. You will tame frizz and keep it from being brittle. And if you are a man, and squemish about using a female prodcut, go with their two step mens line: HIS MIX.
the question isn't the shampoo, but the conditioner. Whatever you get, make sure it is super thick. Garnier has a hair mask that I love. After shampooing, just put the mask on your hair and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Nothing will get rid of split ends, they will have to be trimmed. Good luck!
redken soft, or bed head moisture maniac works awesome!
BioSilk or anything that has a conditioner.
firstly, blowdrying is not a good idea because it makes the hair very brittle, i am a guy and i use nu:u shampoo %26amp; conditioner by jamellia (ghd) it works really well, it is a professional make so you can only buy it at hairdressers or the internet, it costs 拢7.50 for the shampoo and 拢8.50 for the conditioner, or each cost $18.50 in the U.S.A (slightly expensive but totaly worth it) the conditioner it very thick, it is more like a paste than a cream, infact it is so thick that you need to use both hands to squeeze it out the bottle! seriously, dont die not knowing about it lol PLZ TRY IT! after using it blot your hair dry with a towel then allow to air dry, i promise you it works! there are 5 types so there is definatly one to suit you, i use the volume ones.

Whats an easy way to blow dry hair so its straight?

i have a hard time holding the dryer and brushing at the same time.suggestions?Whats an easy way to blow dry hair so its straight?
Put the brush just under the crown area, where your head starts to slope down again. Push a little harder and pull out a little bit. Hold the dryer in the other hand, and slope it down towards the length of the hair.Whats an easy way to blow dry hair so its straight?
what i first do is I start by getting my hair half dry. Then I apply a serum, anti-freezr , and there are even some that help straighten your hair. I begin by blow drying with my head upside down. I brush it through and I begin to blow dry the top, brush simutaneously or blow drying and then brushing.after each section. good luck i hope this works. also you can try using aussie products when you wash your hair it helps smooth it out!
put your hair on big plastic rollers. when its dry take them out, your hair should be straighter but curly. then blowdry and it will become SUPER STRAIGHT.

How do you make really straight, dry hair, curly/wavy and smooth and silky?

I got my hair permantly straightened (for six months) and it's not coming out! I really like soft, silky, curly/wavy hair, but I don't know how to make it like that. I have thick, and dry hair. Please help, thanks! How do you make really straight, dry hair, curly/wavy and smooth and silky?
Well I Would Use ALOT Of Conditioner And Hair Care products, Such As Spray COnditioner Etc, I Would THen Straighten My Hair, Add Another Load Of Spray Conditioner Or Straightening Care Product, And Then Curl My HAir,

    Hope This Helps

    Good Luck

How to prevent dry hair in the summer?

I know summer's not here yet, but its not as far as some might think.....

Last summer the sun fried the top part of my hair, it got all frizzy and dry, I've been doing some damage control during the cold seasons, but i dont want it to happen again. How can I prevent my hair from getting dry and frizzy this summer???How to prevent dry hair in the summer?
they have shampoos with SPF in them, you could try that. I'm pretty sure that Paul Mitchell makes one.How to prevent dry hair in the summer?
get shampoo thats for dry hair...and use conditioner twice
get a hydrating shampoo and wash every day and i would get citrus shine (clear bottle gel like stuff sold in drug stores) put it on before you go out. my hair is the same way it works really good.
Add a hot oil treatment to your regular shampoo and conditioner, about once a week or so (depends on your hair).

Yuo can get hot oil treatments done in a salon, but lots of home treatments are available too. Get an automatic heating pack, and jus use one little treament thing each time. You twist the top off and apply to your hair before you shampoo. Leave it in for as long as the directions tell you to, rinse it out, and then shampoo. If you choose to condition that day, only do it lightly. The hot oil treament will do most of the conditioning already. If you have short hair, you can probably get away with only using half of one treament each time and saving the rest.

L'Oreal has a great hot il treament product, available at most stores, like Target, Wlmart, CVS, and even some grocery stores (I've seen it at Harris Teeter and Bloom).

Do you straighten your hair? That will definitely not help dry hair. You don't have to avoid straightening entirely, just skip a day whenever you can.

    Wear hats outdoors!
use none of your frizzies and hello hydration by herbal essences both work wonders
Beat an egg in a cup of milk. When it foams, rub it into the scalp.Leave it on for 5 minutes. Rinse the hair thoroughly with water.Carry out this routine twice a week for excellent results for dry damaged hair. Check out http://solutionsfordryhair.blogspot.com/ for more info.

    Yea, i have dry hair.

Is there any way to make it look starighter, because i think i have a little split ends. What is the best remedy to dry hair?
Try mixing avocado and almond oil together. It has lots of moisture and it is very healthy for your hair. I would use about 2 tablespoons of each, mix it, then lather it in your hair. Leave it on for 30 minutes. If you don't want to do that, then plan on getting some conditioner and shampoo. Head %26amp; Shoulders, Dove, and other brands work very well! Good luck! What is the best remedy to dry hair?
    for a great conditioner:

    1 egg

    1 tablespoon olive oil

    1 teaspoon honey

mix them together well then put it all through dry hair with your hands.

leave in for 30 mins (it doesn't drip)

then shampoo well. It makes your hair really beautiful :)
a moisturizing conditioner and i find that people who use coconut oil have very moist air (in a good way) :)

What are some home remedies for dry hair?

i have heard mayo works really good but how would i got about doing it??? like how much and how long do i leave it up there? Also i have heard that u can use bananas if anyone knows how to do this let me know....and if there are any other things i could do.What are some home remedies for dry hair?
I've heard about mayo, too, but I'm not too sure about that...

Olive oil is good for dry hair, though. That much I know. :3

I usually warm up a small bottle in a cup of hot water (I think a ziploc bag in water should do the same, then you can nick off the edge and use it as an applicator). Then, I section off my hair and put a bit on my scalp, then focus on the rest of my hair and ends (my hair is extremely dry) and wrap my hair in a cap for about an hour or so, depending on how dry your hair is. The heat from your scalp helps the oil penetrate the hair shaft, so that's a bonus. Some people recommend letting it stay in your hair overnight and washing it out in the morning, but I would manage to get it everywhere if I tried. What are some home remedies for dry hair?
The causes of hair loss and hair thinning could be attributed to the following:

    (1) Over use of harsh Synthetic Hair Care Products

    (2) Emotional Stress

    (3) Nutritional Deficiency

    (4) Hormonal variations

    (5)Systemic Diseases

    (6)Genetic Factors

For the things that you can control to prevent hair loss, you should start right away. Start by reducing stress, eating a balanced diet with sufficient minerals and vitamins to nourish to scalp, exercising, and stop using chemical based hair care products. The harsh chemicals from most shampoo and hair care products can cause dry scalp, which leads to excessive hair loss.

There are herbal based shampoo that uses herbs and botanical extracts proven to prevent hair loss and stimulate hair growth. You can try this.

You should also consider replacing your shower head with the filtered one. The chlorine in the tap water can cause hair loss problem.

dry hair is due to a lack of essential fatty acids. caused by high alkaline shampoo, over processed hair. or wavy to curly hair that is under nourished.sometimes it may be caused by not drinking enough water.mayo and bananas are great band aids but nothing to do enough healing. you need health aids my favorites are luxury champu, tres plus and control solution by axiom haircare.
Start by not washing your hair every day. Wash it every 2-3 days instead. The natural oils in your hair will be able to develop and will help it to look soft and shiny. You can also try a hot oil treatment. V05 makes one for use in the shower.
I have use mayo before all you do is put in hair and let it sit for 10 mins to an hour depends on how much you want it to get conditioned, then rinse out. I used Avocados also . Virgin coconut oil is great and so is olive oil you must rinse out each

    http://www.pioneerthinking.com/hair.html
soak your hair in olive oil (extra virgin) for like 15 minutes. then wash it out. use moisturizing shampoos and that should work. you'll hair will look so good.

  • How can I go from coarse, dry hair to soft, shiny hair?

I'm a guy, my hair is a couple inches long and it always looks dry and coarse when nothing is on it. I wanna make it look and feel shiny and soft. I wanna have that natural look when I style it without having it look gunky or hard. Any ideas? How can I go from coarse, dry hair to soft, shiny hair?

A good shampoo/condtioner is the first step. Then use a gel with silcone in it. (Just a dab otherwise it looks greasy) I like the Laminates concentrate gel. It will make your hair soft and give it soft flexible hold.
Smooth and silky hair is the most important factor in beauty. Blow drying your hair is one of the tool in preserving delicate hair. It is also the best method to straighten out your curl, provided you do it right way. Carelessness in handling the heat on your hair may damage them permanently. Blow drying is an effective method in adding volume to your hair. Add brilliance and shine to your hair with right blow drying and styling. Here are few tips that can be used to blow dry your hair to ensure your hair is kept in good condition despite the toll everyday wear and tear can have.

heena and yoghurt mixed together , nourish , protect and give hair a healthy shine. for stronger roots rub warm olive oil and then wrap a hot towel for 5 minutes so your pores can open and scalp can absorb oil. It really does work!

Shampoo of Multani Clay Immerse 100 gm multani clay in water. After two hours make a paste and apply gently in the hair. Wash the hair after 5-10 minutes in winters with warm water and normal water in summers. If hair is very dirty do it twice a week; the hair becomes soft, silky and long. It brings a cool and light feeling.

Natural bristle brushes are preferable to plastic and polyester bristles. They are gentler on the hair. Unless your brush has natural bristles, you should never brush wet hair, as wet hair tends to snap easily.

Shampoo of flour of gram pulses Apply paste of flour of gram pulse made with water on the hair twice a week and wash the hand after an hour. The hair becomes black, dense, clean, shining and soft. It also relieves itching or cures boils in the head.

Ceramic styling hair brush is good for medium to long hair styles because it helps to manage long hair and eliminate static electricity. You will be even able to create soft waves that will frame your face and make it look gorgeous.

Most stylists recommend a trim every six weeks. A regular trim will help prevent or get rid of split ends. Often, it's not the entire head of hair that needs the fix - just the dried out ends. If you're trying to grow your hair out and are freaked by the prospect of a cut, just make sure you clearly advise your stylist to cut off only up to the line of damage. Plus, seeing your hairdresser on a consistent basis will allow him or her to assess your hair during each visit, and help you get your hair to its maximum beauty potential. Consider it a regular checkup.

Wide-toothed comb for detangling hair after and before washing. Every time you are preparing to wash your hair you should make a detangling first. This will help you lessen the risk of mechanical damage during washing and make the after-washing detangling easier, thus eliminating more mechanical damage. Such combs should be of antistatic material, so read labels carefully and make sure you won鈥檛 harm your hair with poor quality product.

Here are some tips on how to get shiny hair:

Eat plenty of iron packed foods or take iron supplements. Iron is a good source of nutrients that will give you healthy skin and shiny hair.

Vitamin E should be the epitome of shine. Vitamin E has special agents that create a silky, shiny effect for your hair, you can take a supplement or use a product based gel, shampoo or conditioner.

Condition your hair weekly, to get best results use a deep conditioner.

Use hot oil treatments to create great shine.

Moisturizing shampoos are ideal when you are trying to get shiny hair.

There are a variety of shine hair care products on the market you can choose what is right for you depending on the type of hair you have.

You can always opt for the classic wash your hair with eggs and mayo, which it actually does work however your hair will not smell so good, so it is best to follow up with a scented or herbal shampoo.

Gels and creams are always an affordable alternative to create the ultimate shine for your hair.

It is recommended to use styling products in moderation, too much use of products can make your hair look dull and will not promote the shine and silk that you want to achieve.

Lemon juice has a special effect that you can use as an aid to help you create silky hair. It is easy to apply to you hair, you should leave lemon juice in your hair for about 20 minutes and thin rinse out. The end result you hair will look fantastic!

When you wash and rinse your hair it is recommended to rinse with cold water since the cold water closes the cuticles therefore allowing your hair to create a silky shiny look.

How do i tame my curly dry hair?

I have very curly and very dry hair.

I straighten it, only on occasions, as i know the straighteners damage the hair and are not very good in the long run.

I am wondering if you can suggest something to protect my hair whilst straightening? How do i tame my curly dry hair?
OMG! i have extremely curly hair and straighten it EVERY day and the only product that i have found out there that has maintained the frizz and static throughout the day is ';super skinny serum'; from paul mitchel. you can also use this to make your hair shiny and frizz free if you wear your hair curly. To straighten with this product you put 1 squirts in depending on the length of your hair and then dry it .then put 1-3 squirts in all over your hair again and start straightening! I %26lt;3 this and it has worked for me for 3 years now!How do i tame my curly dry hair?

you can buy hairspray or mousse to keep and glossy and shiny...for the straightening i suggest you use a hot comb or turn the temperature down on the curling iron
use any type of heat protectant. I personally like the product in Beyond. Plus you might want to get a good conditioner for your dry hair. Anything but Pantiene, its pure wax. I suggest anything by Tresemme. Good luck!
go to great clips and get hair protector!

i have your similar hair texture. when your hair is still wet, rub in a few drops of light pink oil moisturizer but just a few dabs. It does contain a little mineral oil, so in general you want to stay away from anything with lots of mineral oil, becuase it attracts dirt. oh, and ALWAYS use a moisturizing shampoo.
Aloe Vera,is a good remedy for dry hair. It is obtained from the leaves of the Aloe Vera plant. Break the leaf and squeeze out the liquid inside, apply this liquid to your scalp, keep for about an hour and wash it off . Check out http://solutionsfordryhair.blogspot.com/ for more info.

What is the best solution for dry hair?

Change your diet. Eat fish 3 times a week instead of meat. Oliy fish such as salmon help to nourish dry hair. Also, make sure you drink at leats 8 glasses of water a day. Your hai gets its moisture from inside more than from a moisturizer that you apply to the strands. What is the best solution for dry hair?
This is really a good deep conditioning treatment. Shampoo hair, towel dry and apply a conditioner like Biolage Conditioning Balm, then take a plastic bag preferable one with elastic around it but saran wrap will work too, then take and use a hair dryer or a dryer u sit under and heat this up for about 15 minutes. Let cool completely, what this does is the heat opens up the hair cuticles and allows the hair shaft to soak up the conditioner, then the cool down process closes the hair cuticles retaining the conditioner for a deep treatment. This conditioner can also be used to condition after shampooing just like a normal conditioner for a 3-5 minute conditioner, a little goes a long way. So buy one product and you have a everyday conditioner and a deep conditioner all in one product! Always use cool or cold water to rinse out conditioner. Hope this helps!

Also Biosilk Silk Therapy as a leave in conditioner, anti frizz, and detangler, wonderful stuff I call it our little bottle of gold, about $13.50 for a 2.5 oz bottle but you only have to use a few drops and smells good too!
don't wash your hair with hot water, wash with cold, or a lil warm. you can try and use avocado in your hair as a hair mask. use a good shampoo and deep conditioner organinic and clean is the best way. try also looking for silicea gel. You can find that in health food stores.
DONT PUT OIL IN ALL THE TIME MAYBE 1 A WEEK AND IF YOU WANT UR HAIR TO BE STRAIGHT AND SHINEY USE BIO SILK ITS AMAZING AND CONDITION YOUR HAIR A COUPLE TIMES AFTER SHAMPOOING
Use Coconut everyday and then shampoo

Instead of Shampoo go for Herbal products Merra powder(Indian product)
I apply a LOT of conditioner, then leave it in my hair for about 10 minutes so absorb, then rinse. You should probably shampoo again though so your hair isnt greasy looking.

    Hope this helps.
Try washing your hair only every other day. Your diet has alot to do with how your hair looks. Look on Oprah.com for Dr Oz. He did a segment last week on this.
mayo is spose to work good

leave in ure hair for 10 mins and rince off..

What brand of shampoo and conditioner for relaxed and dry hair?

Is Loreal Elseve okay? What brand of shampoo and conditioner for relaxed and dry hair?
I would personally recommend Motions Critical Protection %26amp; Repair line. The relaxers are for professional use only, however, the conditioners and shampoos can be purchased and used by all.

It is a wonderful line that will protect your hair better than the Loreal line in my experience.

If this line is not of interest to you, make sure you choose a product that with small trace amounts or no alcohol (isopropyl). This is the number one damager to relaxed hair.

Hope this helps. What brand of shampoo and conditioner for relaxed and dry hair?
    Relaxed hair can be tricky...

Really depends on whether or not it is damaged.

But a few of my favorites for relaxed hair-

Redken's Clear Moisture Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner

Mizani's shampoo %26amp; Moisture fuse conditoner

Arosci's Intense Moisture Shampoo and conditioner
I don't use that nor have I ever, but Tresemme's moisturizing shampoo and conditioner with vitamin E is really good along with Infusium's moisturizing shampoo.

Can you use Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Mousse on dry hair?

The instructions on the bottle say to use it on wet hair, but I have heard some people use it on dry hair too to reduce frizz. I was just wondering if this works or if it would be absolutely crazy to use it this way. My hair is naturally wavy and I always let it air dry, but still have a lot of frizz, especially since I recently got it cut to about shoulder-length. Thanks for the input. Can you use Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Mousse on dry hair?
i personally haven't tried it, but i've used other similar products on my hair that said to use on wet hair, and it's turned out just fine. my hair isn't really frizzy, so i couldn't tell a difference.

:O washing your hair everday is not a good idea it wil damage your hair. The reason your hair gets greasy is to keep your hair in good condtion. if you gunna use condtioner leave in ones are not very good use a condtioning treatment once a week that will leave you hair in really good condtion. as normal conditioners just look after the outside of your hair treatments pentrate in to the hair.

What causes dry hair, and tips to treat it?

What are causes of dry hair, other than shampooing too often? Also, what other methods of treatment are there , other than shampoos for 'dry hair', as these dont seem to work? Thanks for your helpWhat causes dry hair, and tips to treat it?
Dry hair starts at the scalp. Think about it, if you've been laying out in the sun all day and don't put lotion on, your skin is going to feel dry and scaly. It is the same with your scalp. If your scalp is not moisturized, your hair won't be either.

First, look at the brand of shampoo and conditioner you are using. If it is the $3 Suave from Wal-Mart, then of course your hair is going to be dry. People want their hair to look good, but you can't skimp on product. Salon shampoos and conditioners are expensive but they work. Some good brands are Redken, TIGI, or Enjoy. These products restore the natural pH of hair, giving it back it's moisture. Cheap products contain lauryl sulfate which is the same thing that can be found in regular detergents. You know you would never wash your hair with Tide, so why buy S/C with that in it??

Once you get a good S/C, try to only shampoo your hair 2-3 times a week max to let your natural oils coat the hair. Each time you shampoo, your strip your hair of those natural oils. Make sure that you leave the conditioner on for at least 3 minutes and then rinse using cooler water to close the cuticle.

Try not to heat style your hair all the time (flat irons, blow dryers). These dry out the hair as well. Use a leave in conditioner or styling spray to act as a buffer when you do heat style your hair.

Make sure to get trims every few months to keep the breakage of your hair only at the ends. You do not want split ends traveling up the hair shaft or that hair ends up being damaged completely.

And finally, once every couple of weeks you can do a deep conditioning mask. And it's really easy to do at home. Find your favorite conditioner (Biolage makes a great conditioning balm), and coat the hair while it is damp. Take a shower cap and cover you head . Use a blow dryer as a heat source to allow the conditioner to penetrate the hair for about 15 minutes. Allow hair to cool for 5 minutes. Then rinse your hair using cool water. Your hair should stay soft for at least a week.

Hope this helps! :)What causes dry hair, and tips to treat it?
dry hair can come from a number of things.. hair product. shampoo. heating tools.

if you want to treat dry hair.. go to sally beauty supply store.. and buy CHLOSTEROL CONDITIONER it kinda gross. and black ppl use it for their nappy hair. use small amounts. once a month.

Is it good to put the Chi Silk Infusion on right before i straighten it with DRY hair?

I take a shower at night, then let my hair airdry then in the morning i put the Chi Silk Infusion on then sraighten my hair. Will this give the best results? Is it good to put the Chi Silk Infusion on right before i straighten it with DRY hair?
Yes, it is. I use it both on damp and dry hair and after I style it. Just don't put too much every time you use it. Good luck!Is it good to put the Chi Silk Infusion on right before i straighten it with DRY hair?
As a Natural Hairstylist, I always recommend that people try to air dry their hair more often then blow drying it because your hair will become healthier over time. I have not used this product, but I have heard from fellow stylists that CHI Silk Infusion works best when the hair is completely dry.

So, to answer your question, YES!
Yes, i do it all the time, but dont straighten the ends too much, it'll cause split ends, but all in all it creates the best results.
Yeah, definitely. I let it sit in my hair for about 10 minutes before I straighten it. Only use about a dime-sized amount because it can make your hair greasy.
    yes
ya u put it on right b4 u blow dry and straiten it but only if its the hair straitener protection thing

How do you treat extra dry hair?

I condition my hair all the time but it is super dry. It was never like this until about 6 months ago. It seems to fall out more than it should also or it is just breaking.

How do I get soft hair again? How do you treat extra dry hair?
A generous oil application and massage is recommended before washing the hair. Frequent shampooing is harmful for dry hair. Sometimes lack of nutrients can also cause dry brittle hair. Take a multivitamin and mineral supplement on a daily basis. Check out http://solutionsfordryhair.blogspot.com/ for more info. How do you treat extra dry hair?
do a massage with hairoil for 1 hr before shampooing n for shampoo u can use Garnier oil repair...it works...
Did you happen to bleach it at all which may have caused the damage? Try using a hydrating shampoo like the one by herbal essences.

Any ideas on how to take care of my daughter's always dry hair?

She is 6 years old, and I think I have tried everything on the market to prevent it from breaking and turning brownish. Do you know of any good hair treatment?Any ideas on how to take care of my daughter's always dry hair?
What kind of hair does she have? if it's frizzy or curly or coarse (affrican, middle eastern, etc.)

I would use a shampoo and conditioner without ';Laureth sulfate'; or ';disodium laurel'; - it is murder on these kinds of hair.

The best one I've found for my son and husband (middle eastern hair) is Burt's Bees - you can get it a lot of places, but the health food stores usually sell all of the products.

Also, it could be build up from many treatments and the water minerals, so start rinsing it with apple cider vinegar every week - just make sure not to get it in her eyes - it stings, you should put the vinegar in after shampoo and conditiner, but then do a quick water rinse after - she will have a slight vinegar smell for the day, so do it on the weekend.

I know, it's hard - I've really had to experiment with my guys!Any ideas on how to take care of my daughter's always dry hair?
Im assuming that your daughter is bi-racial or african american. If so, you need to oil her scalp every 2-3 days and also rub some oil through her hair and gently comb and brush it. Use a mosturizing shampoo called Creme of Nature (it works WONDERS) and wash it ONCE a week. Because of the texture of the african american hair, it needs oils to keep it from getting dry, brittle, and it also makes it grow, therefore, do NOT wash it more than once a week. If your daughter is not of african american decent, i apologize and forget my comment. Hope this helps.
    Silk Elements Hair Cholesterol

you can get it at Sally's Beauty Supply.

It works right away to help dry, brittle hair. And it makes it soft as silk.

don't wash her hair every day, let the natural oils sink it. Washing too often will dry the hair.

Apply vitamin E oil from the capsules to the ends of her hair. It will keep them healthy, moisturized, and prevent split ends.
Ask you're salon professional to order you a bottle of Instacure, its a leave in conditioner that will help you comb it and also protect it from damaging sunlight....its very light and mild for a young ones sensitive skin...also Paul Mitchells Baby dont cry shampoo and use Biolage Conditioning balm after, or if you perfer the Redken All Soft shampoo and conditioner, but def invest in a bottle of Instacure
Don't use pantene. It coats your hair with yucky wax and makes it look healthy when it's not.

Use Aussie Moist. I have dry hair (its curly too) and this stuff is a godsend. Nothing works half as well, not even salon products.

also, don't wash her hair too much if its so dry. try every other day first then see what happens and use your judgement.
... Just wondering... if your daughter is only six, why is her hair already breaking?? is it because she is rough on it?? I remember when I was little, my hair was only washed maybe twice a week. Don't wash it too often, and use a shampoo and conditioner made for kids... the chemical makeup of children's hair is NOT the same as adult hair!!!
extra moisturizing shampoos and conditioners. you might also want to consider washing her hair only once every few days so the natural oils from her skin can sink in and protect it.
You can take her to a salon and ask what kind of shampoo and conditioner would be best for her hair type.
Take to make her take a more thorough shower with high quality shampoo and conditioner. Head %26amp; Shoulders seems to work the best.
Does she go in the pool too much? That is very weird for a young girl. Try Moracan Oil Treatment or Ojon Treatment.
use conditioners and baby oil for hair.
use the pantene conditioner and shampoo for dried hair.

that really really helped mine A LOT!

I have very dry hair, and I've been trying an assortment of shampoos and conditioners for years without establishing any clear favorites. Is there anyone out there with very dry hair that has a recommendation? Something that works extremely well for them?

you should try something that is made specifically for dry/brittle/coarse hair and use a light conditioner. Men don't tend to use conditioners and this is key to keeping naturally dry hair moisterized.

How good to hot oil treatments work on dry hair?
Dry hair is due to a lack of moisture and more importantly humectants and lipids (essential fatty acids). Signs of dried hair are dullness, dry or rough feeling, split ends, frizziness, and it is difficult to comb or brush.

    Causes of Dry Hair

鈥?Environmental damage - sun, heat, outside chemicals.

鈥?Mechanical damage - blow drying, curling irons, hot rollers.

鈥?Chemical damage - perms, color, bleach.

鈥?Some people have hair that is naturally dry; there is no natural wet.

In each case lipids are lost from the hair. These lipids are humectants which attract and hold moisture into the hair. They must be replaced.

The key is to increase the hair鈥檚 ability to attract and retain moisture.

    Solutions for Dry Hair

鈥?If you spend a lot of time in the strong sunlight, use a hair sunscreen or protect your hair with a headscarf or hat.

鈥?Allow your hair to air dry wherever possible. When you must use your hairdryer, blow drying hair should be done correctly - use it on a cooler temperature and aim it down the hair shaft.

鈥?Be careful not to over wash dry hair. It's very easy to strip away the natural oils if you wash it too often.

鈥?Use a moisturizing shampoo. Condition after every shampoo.

鈥?Rinse with water alone on off days.

鈥?Do not use mousse on dry hair, use a thickening lotion instead.

鈥?Use safflower oil or olive oil. Both are wonderful conditioners for dry hair:

    Home remedies for dry hair

    Safflower oil

    1. Place a couple of drops of safflower oil in your palms and rub them together;

    2. Take your dry hair and massage the small amount of oil to the ends first and work toward the scalp;

    3. Leave this in your hair. Here is another dry hair remedy:

    Olive oil

    1. Warm up half a cup of olive oil;

    2. Massage it through the hair;

    3. Wrap your hair in plastic, and then in a warm towel;

    4. Leave for 30 minutes;

    5. Wash out using a shampoo suited for dry hair.
I would say not to use chemicals on your hair. Why don't you go for some home remedies. Egg whites, lemon juice, oil massages, reducing stress and diet changes can reduce hair fall and make it healthier. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for hair loss as well as for healthy hair at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/hairfall.htm鈥?/a>

Externally - jojoba oil with lavender essential oils, rosemary essential oil.
    try a leave in conditioner.

oh yeah, if you straighten your hair, stop while you

put the leave in conditioner in [for about two weeks]

so that is can work to its full potential.
pureology for sure. it is by far the best hair care product I have ever used. They have 2 repairing shampoo + conditioner combos (gold and green) and a hydrating (blue)and moisturizing (purple smells like peppermint) as well. The leave in conditioner (green) is amazing. I use it everyday mixed in with my styling creme and my hair doesn't dry out. I also blow dry and straighten or curl my hair almost every day and I have few to no split ends and shiny strong hair. I've noticed the breakage has stopped and my hair looks great and is so much more healthy. What i like most about pureology is all of the products have built in sunscreen for your hair and color protection like none other. My hair is colored and where it used to fade and lose shine it looks like I just went to the salon everyday. I love it =)
Neutrogena Triple Moisture. It's the BEST shampoo I've ever tried, and that includes really high quality stuff that's over 100 bucks a bottle. You can see the difference after using it only once. It's awesome. I use the shampoo and conditioner and all the other stuff in the line. What's funny is, I pay 100 dollars for one bottle of shampoo that isn't even all that great and this whole line costs less than 60. I've been dying my hair since I was eleven and all the chemicals like killed it. Whoever invented this shampoo is a miracle worker.
Try coconut oil, cover hair and scalp liberally and leave on for at least 2 hours. Wash off 2-3 times and condition as normal. It is a good conditioner and protects against lice (kills them) in case you should come into high risk situations - trains, buses, around many kids, etc.
Aussie 3 minute miracle DEEEEEEEEEEEEP conditioner works really good. I used after I bleached my hair. My hair was so fried it was breaking off. I used this stuff and I love it.
If you're willing to pay $30-$40 a bottle, BIOSILK by Farouk is BAR NONE the best hair care product available. It has litteral silk proteins in it! It's incredible I use it all the time, use it for wet or dry hair! It's fabulous!
Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner
You need to get a trim cut off all your dead/split ends. You need to make sure that our hair care product contain sunscreens to protect your hair from the UV rays. Look for shampoos that contain natural humectants. Get Sunsik Hydra TLC products thats a good shampoo for dry hair. Or Garnier Fructis products dry or damaged hair.

Do deep conditioning to your hair heres a homemade recipe. Just so you know if you use too much products it will dry your hair out even more, its best to go homemade!

What is the best shampoo for frizzy and dry hair?

my hair is also curly and i want it straight. wat are the best products and brands and styling tips? What is the best shampoo for frizzy and dry hair?
panteneWhat is the best shampoo for frizzy and dry hair?
here are some tips,if u put pantene for shampoo then then loreal has these produts that u could find in target walmart,etc...and it goes by color an dwhat type, and thats what i reccomend.and that really works!and if u want it straight just after u take a shower/bath.then u iron it with a straighned iron.
Redken Smooth down shampoo and either smooth down conditioner or redken all soft conditioner.I have naturally curly/frizzy (Jewish) hair and it works great for me!
Expensive shampoos that are all-natural and organic. People just don't realize that almost all cosmetics have ingredients related to health problems. If people do realize it, they just don't care.
    i like garnier
Most shampoos are the same- it's the conditioner that makes a difference. You should try a good leave-in conditioner that will control frizz and protect the hair so that it doesn't dry.
I use pantene pro v conditioner and i also like sun silk shampoo.

    I like pantene the best.
John Frieda has great products for that. Use the appropriate shampoo and conditoner with the frizz ease serum. I think he even has a straightener formula too. Either way, he has stuff that will make you love your hair, curly or straight.
John Frieda. Try his Frizz Ease Serum.
    Dove conditioner works miracles.
    Pro-Vive
Redken makes a product for this. I forget the name, but it comes in a tan bottle and works great.
regardless of shampoo and conditioner, use ';Straight'; by Bumble and Bumble (Bb). It is a little expensive, but leaves the hair looking great, straight, shiny and smooth. I love it!
John Frieda Frizz-Ease Straight Ahead shampoo and conditioner. For extra help with frizz, use the frizz-ease serum, too, on your wet hair.

If you get a hair straightener, make sure that it has ceramic plates. These won't damage your hair as much, and will make your hair shinier.

Make sure you trim your hair regularly so that it doesn't get too damaged from all the straightening.

What is a great way to fix SUPER dry hair?

I admit I straighten it way too much but does any one have a quick fix i can do at home to fix super dry hair?

Any ideas will be great! What is a great way to fix SUPER dry hair?
Well, there are a few options for you. First, how good is the quality of your flat iron? One suggestion is to get a new one if you think the straightener could be the problem. Second, I know this doesn't sound amazing, but don't wash your hair so much. Since you straighten your hair all the time, why don't you try and wash your hair every other day, giving your natural hair oils a chance to keep your hair moisture balanced, or simply give your hair a break. But I know there are mass products you could use, NEVER use the VO5 hot oil, it fries your hair and it's hard to wash it out. Before you start straightening your hair, it would probably be a good idea for you use a hair protectant. My personal favorite is Alterna Hemp Straightening Balm. It's light, it won't make your hair greasy, and it's easy on the environment. Also, about once a week you should use a product such as S-Factor by TIGI's ';Serious Conditioner'; instead of your normal conditioner in the shower. These product can get expensive, but many companies make knock-offs that are just about as good. What is a great way to fix SUPER dry hair?
an old trick is to wash your hair in mayonaise. the natural oils in the mayo will help restore your dried out hair. or you could just go see a hair specialist.
Take more showers. Use more oil.
Aussie Brand (you know, the purple with the kangaroo) has an awesome shampoo and conditioner called Moist for dried out hair. it's what i use and it's a lifesaver. Also, they have a thing called 3-minute Miracle. It's a special conditioner you use once or twice a week that is reallly effective too.

These 3 Aussie products make my hair really soft, even though i use a straightener every day. :)
use olive oil or coconut oil in ur hiar it will make very soft and silky also use conditioner like few times a week
Use Design Essentials 5n1 Reconstructor after shampooing. You can also you Mizani Moisturfuse or Avlon Affirm 5n1 Reconstructor after the shampoo. You can by Mizani at JC Pennys and the other two you can find online. They are all well worth it. You will notice after using one time that your hair retains more moisture and is softer
try shampooing your hair less and using more conditioner then get a good leave in conditioner and try flat ironing your hair on a lower setting.

i only wash my hair like 2 a week but i flat iron it everyday. it is very healthy because when i do wash it i dont use much shampoo. the natural oil in my hair burns off when i flat iron so it doesnt look oily.
hot oil treatment or intense conditioner
Pantene makes great hair masks. KMS has this super conditioning treatment that came in a packet that I would use after coloring and it made my hair feel like silk! I forgot what it's called though.
It's easy! Do a hair mask. If you don't want to buy one just leave conditioner in your hair for half an hour once a week until you hair looks the way you want it to!
    its called water.....genius.

What heat protection should I use for my dry hair?

If I use a good heat protection spray, will that offset ALL the damage caused by straightening my hair in the first place?

And what is the best (cheap) spray that moisturises but doesn't weigh down your hair??What heat protection should I use for my dry hair?
tresemeWhat heat protection should I use for my dry hair?
i make a spray by myself. i put water in a sprayer, add a few drops of coconut oil, and a few drops of basil essential oil. you can also add a hydrosol (like lavender). Just spray your hair with it.
hey sorry i'm just now answering ur question!ok pantene pro-v makes this protecting spay it works realy good!and it's cheep!it's like $4.00 and some change here i'll let u take a look

  • What shampoo and conditioner should I use for dry hair?

I am an African American girl.I have wavy hair but it is very dry and sometimes frizzy and has dandruff. I usually wash my hair once a week. But I cant find a good shampoo for dry hair and for dandruff. Help please! What shampoo and conditioner should I use for dry hair?
While it鈥檚 impossible to know the proportion of the ingredients listed in a label, a good rule of thumb is the more ingredients listed, the better the shampoo. That鈥檚 because there鈥檚 only 3 categories of ingredients in a shampoo: cleansers, stabilizers, and conditioners. If there鈥檚 25 ingredients listed, chances are the product has a sophisticated mixture of more than one of each agent, which increases the odds that the product will leave your hair soft and manageable. And you鈥檒l know after the first use whether the product suits your hair.

To help you decide which combo of ingredients you want in a conditioning shampoo, here鈥檚 a list:

    1. Proteins 鈥?amino acids, hydrolyzed proteins, keratin. (Eggs contain a protein that hair CANNOT absorb and adds no value to a product other than as a marketing tool.) This is good for the hair shaft. Nexxus Therappe, Revlon鈥檚 Flex Body Building Protein Shampoo, Revlon鈥檚 Milk Plus 6, Redmond鈥檚 Asuuie Mega Shampoo, Jhirmack鈥檚 Lite Frequent Use Shampoo.

    2. Milk 鈥?for its protein, not for its fat. Good for split ends or damaged hair. Revlon鈥檚 Milk Plus

    3. Balsam 鈥?excellent when combined with proteins. Adds volume by coating the shaft. Revlon鈥檚 Flex Body Building Protein Shampoo.

    4. Vitamins 鈥?Panthenol found in B5 is absorbed into the shaft and helps strengthen it.

    5. Moisturizers 鈥?lactic acid, lecithin, urea. Especially helpful for dry or over-colored hair. Revlon鈥檚 Milk Plus 6, Jhirmack鈥檚 Gelave.

    6. Oils and waxes 鈥?avocado oil, coconut oil, wheat-germ oil. Provide a coating to retard water evaporation and the coat makes the hair look shiny and smooth. Beeswax and spermaceti also protect against water evaporation but aren鈥檛 as oily as the other oils.

    7. Lemon 鈥?citric juice. Good way to strip accumulated oils and dirt for oily hair. Neitrogena Shampoo, Redmond鈥檚 Australian Hair Citrifier. You can also use a real lemon.

    8. Allantoin 鈥?from the comfrey root. Good conditioner, increases the shaft鈥檚 water retention, is antidandruff, dissolves excess kerotin on the scalp or shaft. Nexxus鈥檚 Therappe.

    9. Silk 鈥?coats the shaft and make it more reflective, and thus look shinier. Jhirmak鈥檚 Gelave, Alberto Natural Silk, Reinforcer鈥檚 Aqua Silk Shampoo.

    10. Sunscreens 鈥?will add minor protection from the sun, but don鈥檛 assume it does for your hair what it does for your skin.

    11. Polymers 鈥?almost all shampoos and conditioners have this and it鈥檚 a nice coating that adds volume, strength to hair. But it attracts moisture in the air and makes hair feel kind of sticky. It shouldn鈥檛 be a large component of the ingredients in the shampoo. What shampoo and conditioner should I use for dry hair?
Try motions or olive oil's products. If you perm your hair you can try olive oil's perms, it doesn't burn and you can choose the right type for your hair. Im african american myself and my hair is hard to deal with sometimes(lol). And during the weekdays that you don't use an iron or there is BB's oil moisturizer.

    Good Luck
Get the Dark and Lovely Cholesterol Conditioner. You put it in your hair after you shampoo (it is the yellow stuff in the container with the pink lid). It makes your hair soft and treats the scalp after.
head and shoulders is great for dandruff.

i also have very frizzy hair. i use herbal essences ';hello hydration'; shampoo and conditioner. works great. :)
get frizz-eaze (sp) intensive deep conditioner! it's absolutely amazing!
Aussie moist conditioner and use olive oil once a week
Tresemmee is a very good shampoo
    Butter :) Yummm !
maybe if you take more showers a week it will get better

What is the best thing I can do for my rough dry hair?

No matter how wet I get my hair when I want to shampoo it, it is hard to lather my hair. Then when I go to put conditioner I haft to put a lot on and it still feels rough. When it is dry after my shower it doesn't feel nearly as dry. What is the best thing I can do for my rough dry hair?
you have several options.... let's start with your shampoo .... know that a good lather although it is nice doesn't mean your shampoo isn't working, if it's removing the oil and dirt off your scalp and hair follicles then it's working....one of the best shampoos came out years ago had very minimal lather but it was the best product available unfortunately bcus ppl associate a rich lather with good cleaning it didn't sell as much as it should of.... but if the results are extremely tangled, and dry hair then that particular brand is not good for your hair. 1. regardless of your hair type (aside from extremely oily hair) i is not necessary to shampoo daily. 2. you could be using a shampoo that's very harsh on your hair and is only adding to the dryness by stripping your hair of moisture. so my suggesstion is to consult a stylist one who can physically examine your hair and shampoo and tell you whether or not the ph leel is damaging. now your conditioner. many products are labeled incorrectly as conditioners but are really only cream rinses that just detangle the hair not penerate the other layer of your hair and enter into the middle or if your hair fine you can be completely lacking the cortex. so examine yoru conditioner to see that it does have the penetrating effect. a salon provided deep coonditioning treatment maybe very beneficial to your hair. They have hair repair packs that bost your hair with protein and moisture which work wonders or you can get a pure protein concetrate treatment which is also magic for your hair. Make sure to follow a routine of these deep conditioning treatments for a few weeks and you should see less dry hair. avoid using a lot of heat in your hair, avoid dramatic coloring, using a lot of products that cause residue in oyur hair will only dry it out more. hope i helped

LWhat is the best thing I can do for my rough dry hair?
You're not using the right shampoo. Start with a shampoo that will strip the oils from your hair. This can be just a regular cheap shampoo (such as suave). Once all the excess oil is out of your hair, wash with a cream based shampoo. You should get a good lather that way. It sounds like your hair is color treated? Look for shampoos specifically for color treated hair.
You need to get a great deep conditioner. The ones that you leave in for a while and go under the dryer so that it can penetrate into the hair and roots.

Also, don't buy cheap shampoo and conditioner, remember, you get what you pay for.

Also, get a combination shampoo and conditioner. For example, if you get Paul Mitchell's moisturizing shampoo get the same conditioner, because they work together to help you hair quality improve.

What's a good pomade product out there for thick, sometimes dry hair?

I'm looking for a good pomade for my boyfriend who has thick hair. We're looking at a pomade rather than a wax product because his hair is often frizzy and dry in places, and I've read that pomade contains conditioning oils. What are the best pomade products/companies out there? If you think something else would be more suitable, please recommend it!What's a good pomade product out there for thick, sometimes dry hair?

What is the best kind of shampoo for either normal or dry hair?

I found Garnier and Pantene made my hair fall out (I'm not the only one... other people have experienced this, so...) and I've heard bad things about Suave shampoo, and that Dove is just meh. Any suggestions? What is the best kind of shampoo for either normal or dry hair?
I only use Main %26amp; Tail now, I used to color my hair and it turned fried Suave didn't work my hair looked like Hay, but then I started using the Main %26amp; Tail and my hair is back to the way it was when I was a kid, bouncy, shiny, and full, and I can still color it without it coming out fried looking. What is the best kind of shampoo for either normal or dry hair?
Shampoo cannot make your hair fall out. Humans shed 100-200 hairs a day, but most of them come out in the shower because you are pulling on it, it isn't the shampoo: shampoo just cleans hair, that's it! Drugstore shampoo is full of harsh chemicals that dry out hair and leave it brittle, also coating it with wax, though Pantene is the worst and Suave is the next worst. So you need a salon quality shampoo and conditioner if you want to fix the problem. A color safe shampoo is best for you, they are more gentle and won't dry your hair out as much. Catwalk has a shampoo called Fashonista that is wonderful for this.
Back To Basics normalizing shampoo and conditioner!!!! :D

How do I protect dry hair from straightners?

I have got a 'dark %26amp; lovely' thermal protector moose. The directions say after shampooing hair, massage through hair before applying heat. Do you know if this protects me from further encounters with heat? (e.g the next days coming),%26amp; also if I can use it on dry hair? ...How do I protect dry hair from straightners?
Never straighten your hair when it's completely dry. Your hair should always be at least 5 % wet when using heat tools.

It's not always necessary to use products, but use a spray with a thermal protectant involved. These give more moisture and protection to the hair and makes the hair lovely and shiny! How do I protect dry hair from straightners?
Tell us what type your hair is.. wavy, curly, permed, or relaxed but is wearing off?

Well my hair is relaxed but its starting to wear off due to hair growth and because I have been cutting my hair at a salon because my hair is growing faster these days

and my hair is straight at the top and it sort of flips out at the bottom, because my hair is shoulder length and I don't like the flips, so I use straightening serum that I bought from an Albertsons, and its called ';Got2B crazy sleek'; its worked really good for me and it straightens your hair without the use of the hair straightener (iron) it has instructions inside but it also protects your hair from the heat if you do use an iron.. my hair has been getting so much healthier I been using it for about 3 months now and I'm in love with it!

Also, use John Frieda Hair Serum.. it makes your hair shiny and so healthy looking.

and for shampoo I reccommend Mane and Tail.. It really does grow your hair and make it shiny

If you use shampoo and conditioner of mane and tail everyday, its bad for your hair, but use shampoo everyday, and the conditioner every 3 days, and after your shower use the Got2B crazy sleek it really does grow and straighten your hair..

    Hope I helped!!

Oh and when your blow drying, dont use mousse or any brush, just use your fingers to rake your hair really slowly so it dries while your fingers are going through your hair.. using a brush will make your hair messy, thats whats been happening for me!!

And, The Crazy Sleek thing though, is sort of like a spray that does not need hair straightening, so you could always give your hair a rest from hair straighteners and use the spray.

How can you mosturize dry hair?

I wash my hair everyday but I always leave conditioner on it for a while just to keep it from getting dry. No matter what kind of shampoo or conditioner I use, nothing seems to keep it silky or soft. It just feels really dry. What could I do or use to keep my hair from getting too dry?How can you mosturize dry hair?

Avoid washing it everyday, unless you really feel that you have to. Also try heating up a bit of jojoba oil. Not hot, just warm. Cover all your hair, especially your ends because they tend to get more dried out. Massage it into your scalp. Leave it on for 10 minutes, and then wash it out. You could even leave the oil in your hair overnight if it's really dry (put on a shower cap, or wrap your hair in saran wrap so it doesn't go all over your pillow and sheets), then wash it out the next morning. Do this 1 - 2 times a week. You should see a noticeable difference.
You have hair like mine. Unless you absolutely HAVE TO, don't wash it every day!!! I usually wash my hair, wait a day, and then wash it the next day.

You're stripping your hair and scalp of natural oils that keep your hair smooth.

A shampoo/conditioner I found that helped me ALOT is herball essences none of your friziness. You dont have to leave it in for a long time either, I just put it in, soap up, rinse off, then I can rinse the conditioner out and my hair is smooth and soft.

It also helps if you don't blowdry your hair, if you do.
You can try using pure coconut oil. It isn't very expensive. You dampen your hair, apply enough oil to coat it and then put on a shower cap. You can leave it on over night or a few hours. Coconut oil is one of the few oils that can actually penetrate the hair shaft and many people have good luck with it.
Use a hair care product for straight hair like a SunSilk or something that tames frizzies... It will help. Also, do you use a hair dryer? Try not using it for a while - or if you do, use a product for protecting your hair when you use a hot dryer.

have you tried a leave-in conditioner?
use head and shoulders or just look at a drug store in the shampoo isle and there are plenty of shampoos that claim it helps to mosturize and be healthy but i would use head and shoulders or sunsilk :) hope i helped! Also if you straighten your hair that would be the problemo :)
Well my hair also gets really dry sometimes and so instead of using shower conditioner i use after conditioner because it makes it really smooth and moisturized so you should try triple moisture it works great!! I hope i was helpful:)!!!
I myself would use Pantene. It is really good for your hair. You need to switch between it and a second like head and shoulders every week. Just to keep your hair fresh.
You should not be washing it every day. By doing so, you are stripping the scalp of natural (and very necessary) oils.
i recently got the intense damage therapy dove conditioner

it started working from the first time i used it.
