How do I get rid of dry hair?

My hair is so dry. I just want it to lay flat and straight. I've gone as far as putting olive oil in my hair when I noticed it starting to frizz on top and I dont really like that. Got any ideas? How do I get rid of dry hair?
There are a couple parts to the problem, especially this time of year.

The first is that you're probably over washing your hair. Let there be 2-3 full days between washes so that you're not stripping all of your hair's natural oils. If you're washing it more than twice or maybe three times a week, you're drying your hair further.

Once a week, use a deep conditioner on your hair and leave it in at least 5 mins before rinsing it out. The other days, use a spray in conditioner. The frizz you're seeing is from breakage. That's a good sign that your hair needs help. You may also try Redken's spray-in conditioner with UV protection so that if you're out in the sun you're not exacerbating the problem.

Most of all, take a good vitamin every day and drink plenty of water. Your hair is only mirroring your overall health. Wear a hat when you're outside and stay away from the swimming pool, any chemical hair treatments (especially coloring) and curling irons or straighteners. Give your hair 4 months to heal and eat a very good diet in the interim and you'll see a vast improvement. How do I get rid of dry hair?
use lots of conditioner daily, don't rinse it out super good, just so the soap feels like its out. i use pantene pro v daily moisture renewal (if you're on a budget). and leave-in conditioning treatments. and to treat frizz on dry hair, you should use serums.
use coconut oil
umm, i use frizz-ease hair serum
Hair protein or hair serum does help alot.
Do you have a stylist go to bath and body works store they have good hair products for your hair do you get flakes head and shoulders so does sleuson blue a blue bottle shampoo.
buy a leave in moisturizer and use it religously - infusium 23 is good and not to expensive - stop using oil - unless you are frying
DAMAGED, DRY HAIR:

A nourishing conditioner for dry or damaged hair which can be used for all hair types: Separate the white of an egg from the yolk, whip it to a peak. Add 1 Tbls. water to the yolk and blend until the mixture is creamy. Then mix the white and yolk together. Wet your hair with warm water, remove the excess moisture, and apply the mixture to your scalp with your fingertips. Massage gently until the froth is worked into your scalp, then rinse the hair with cool water. Keep applying the mixture until it is used up and then rinsed until all of the egg is washed away.

Good luck.
Get a head massage done, preferably with coconut/amla oil. Also, use a good leave-in conditioner.
Here is a home remedy regimen for dry hair:

Use a good shampoo and conditioner such as, Pantene Pro-v. If you want straight hair, buy a brush from Superstore. It's in the shape of a hairstraightener but it's a brush. Use it while you are blow drying your hair.
moisturize your hair with neutrogena triple moisture per directions monthly.
